U sklopu projekta „Sustavom volontiranja protiv katastrofa“ kojeg financiraju Europski strukturni fondovi u Biogradu je na krovu OŠ postavljena suvremena automatska meteorološka postaja Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus opremljena sa senzorima za mjerenje temperature, vlažnosti i tlaka zraka, smjera i brzine vjetra, količine oborina, UV indexa i solarnog zračenja. Vanjska jedinica koja je opremljena senzorima podatke u realnom vremenu radio signalom šalje na unutarnju jedinicu ili konzolu koja ima mogućnost komunikacije sa mini računalom odnosno serverom Šibenik Meteo udruge čime su podaci javno dostupni na internetu u sklopu meteo mreže na ovom linku.
Samom postavljanju meteo opreme uz članove udruge i nositelja projekta prisutovali su i učenici OŠ kojima je održana prezentacija o radu i održavanju sustava.
Cilj projekta „Sustavom volontiranja protiv katastrofa“ kojeg financiraju Europski strukturni fondovi jačanje je kapaciteta Zajednice Talijana iz Zadra koja su ujedno i nositelj ovog projekta te Udruge Šibenik Meteo kao partnera na projektu. U okviru projekta predviđeno je provesti aktivnosti organiziranja i poticanja volonterstva, postaviti opremu za praćenje vremenskih prilika te mapirati potrebe zajednice za pružanje učinkovitog odgovora na katastrofe uslijed vremenskih nepogoda. Uz izradu hodograma postupanja u slučajevima ekstremnih vremenskih uvjeta uspostaviti će se i sustav alarmiranja dionika projekta.
Projektom je predviđeno postavljanje suvremenih automatskih meteoroloških postaja na školama u četri grada na području Zadarske županije, u Zadru, Biogradu, Benkovcu i Obrovcu. Osim što će meteo postaje široj zajednici omogućiti sustavno praćenje meteoroloških prilika u realnom vremenu, koje će biti besplatno i javno dostupno na internetu, cilj je kroz sustav volontiranja uključiti učenike koji će opremu koristiti i kroz svoj proces školovanja. Time će u sklopu meteoroloških grupa i uz asistenciju profesora izmjerene vrijednosti obrađivati i razmjenjivati ih u sklopu svjetske Globe mreže čime će se kod najmlađe populacije poticati interesi za znanošću i širiti svijest o potrebi zaštite okoliša u vremenu sve očitijih promjena u klimi.
Europski socijalni fond je u sklopu poziva “Jačanje kapaciteta OCD-a za odgovaranje na potrebe lokalne zajednice” za ovaj projekt osigurao bespovratna sredstva u iznosu od 61.209€, a predviđeno trajanje projekta je godinu i pol dana.

As part of the “Volunteering System Against Disasters” project funded by the European Structural Funds, a modern automatic Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station has been installed on the roof of a primary school in Biograd, equipped with sensors for measuring temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind direction and speed, rainfall, UV index, and solar radiation. The external unit, equipped with sensors, sends real-time data via a radio signal to the internal unit or console, which can communicate with a mini-computer or the Šibenik Meteo association’s server, making the data publicly available on the internet as part of the weather network at this link.
During the installation of the weather equipment, students from the primary school attended a presentation on the system’s operation and maintenance, along with association members and project leaders.
The aim of the “Volunteering System Against Disasters” project, funded by the European Structural Funds, is to strengthen the capacity of the Italian Community of Zadar, who is also the project’s lead partner, and the Šibenik Meteo association as a project partner. The project aims to organize and encourage volunteerism, install equipment to monitor weather conditions, and map the community’s needs to provide an effective response to disasters caused by severe weather conditions. Along with the development of a procedure for extreme weather conditions, a system of alerting project stakeholders will be established.
The central problem that this project aims to solve is the insufficient capacity of civil society organizations, the inadequate education of their members, the inability to engage in stronger civic activism, the insufficient organization of volunteering, and the need for more numerous civil society activities that can help the wider community, especially the vulnerable and needy.
The project plans to install modern automatic weather stations in schools in four cities in the Zadar County area: Zadar, Biograd, Benkovac, and Obrovac. In addition to enabling systematic monitoring of weather conditions in real-time, which will be free and publicly available on the internet, the goal is to involve students through volunteering, who will use the equipment as part of their educational process. Thus, within meteorological groups and with the assistance of teachers, the measured values will be processed and exchanged as part of the global Globe network, which will encourage the youngest population’s interest in science and raise awareness of the need to protect the environment in times of increasingly evident climate change.
The European Social Fund has provided non-refundable funds in the amount of €61,209 for this project as part of the call “Strengthening the Capacities of CSOs to Respond to Local Community Needs,” and the project is expected to last for one and a half years.
